"I don't know what kind of bones are in my body--I... I don't know what I'm capable of. I'm not sure I want to."

Taken away from his family and everything he knew at a young age, Mauros was brought to the cold, damp Holy Land of Pluto--Hades--and trained by his predecessor for only a perfunctory period. Left completely alone on Hades when he wasn't even of age, Mauros grew up most of his life in isolation, knowing no human company at all.
Such a life takes its toll on any person. Painfully shy, socially awkward and shockingly ignorant of the reality of human life, Mauros is saved from his isolation after his fraternal twin, Coeus, accepts a bargain from Nemesis to work for her in exchange for their lives. Coeus convinces his innocent and trusting brother to accept the deal as well, telling him that none of the people they hurt are really feeling pain--that the shadowy youma Mauros controls are his friends, and all of his misdeeds are just part of a big, elaborate game. Moreover, Coeus tries to pass on his misogynistic, misanthropic attitudes onto his brother, telling him that people are not to be trusted and never to associate with anyone but himself.
When Mauros meets Mayumi, however, he begins to question what his brother has told him--about other people, about his 'games', and about the life he is leading on Nemesis. Increasingly cognizant that his brother may be deceiving him and that he may be committing horrifying acts, a confrontation between the two brothers becomes inevitable...
